•Jonathan Hoganson has joined the Information Technology Industry Council as its new director of government relations. Hoganson, who last year was policy director for the House Democratic Caucus, comes to the trade group from Rep. Rahm Emanuel’s (D-Ill.) office, where he had served as legislative director since 2005.

•Erin Graefe has been hired as a vice president by Timmons and Company. Prior to joining Timmons, Graefe was a vice president at the Glover Park Group. She also spent nine years at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

•Catherine Bennett will join the National Foreign Trade Council (NFTC) as a senior vice president. Before moving to the NFTC, Bennett, who has served on the White House’s National Security Council and as an aide to former Rep. Peter Frelinghuysen (R-N.J.), was a partner at Venable.

•Michael Wascom has been named managing director of international and government affairs by American Airlines. Wascom was a counselor to the undersecretary at the Department of Transportation, where he also served as deputy assistant secretary for governmental affairs.

•William P. Cook has joined DLA Piper as a partner in the firm’s government affairs practice. Cook will head the firm’s communications group and brings Sydney White, Adrian Copiz and Robert Allen to the practice. Joining DLA Piper from Alston & Bird, Cook held several senior positions at the Department of Justice over nine years and is a commander in the U.S. Navy Reserves.

•Sheldon Bradshaw will join Hunton & Williams as a partner and co-chairman of the firm’s food and drug practice. Bradshaw had been chief counsel for the Food and Drug Administration since 2005.

•Ian Butterfield will consult the Livingston Group in defense and homeland security, among other sectors. The president of Butterfield Carter and Associates and former director of international and government affairs at Westinghouse Electric Corporation worked for 12 years as an aide to the late Sen. William Roth (R-Del.).
