Ex-Labor secretary: Time to consider removing Trump from office
Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich says President Trump is “losing his mind,” suggesting Trump should be removed from office via the 25th Amendment.
“This is why it is now time to seriously consider the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, which provides for removal of a president who is ‘unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office,'” Reich wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
{mosads}The Clinton-era Labor secretary said Trump is becoming “more isolated” and “more humiliated.”
“We know from Trump’s history that whenever he’s cornered he also becomes more aggressive. The further he falls, the more fragile his ego becomes, and the greater is the danger that he will do something desperate,” he wrote.
Reich in March called for Trump’s impeachment, saying he saw four grounds — with a fifth “on its way” — to impeach the president.
Reich backed Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) during last year’s presidential election and harshly criticized Trump throughout the campaign and since his inauguration.
