• Sarah Tinsley Demarest has joined the Mortgage Bankers Association as vice president of public affairs. Tinsley Demarest most recently served as deputy to the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, John R. Bolton. Prior to the U.N. posting, she served as senior adviser to the undersecretary of State for arms control and international security.

• John Neuffer has joined the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) as vice president of technology and trade. Neuffer most recently served as deputy assistant U.S. trade representative for Asia-Pacific economic cooperation affairs. He was also the deputy assistant U.S. trade representative for Japan.

{mosads}• Carol A. Kelly has been named senior vice president of government affairs for the National Association of Chain Drug Stores. Kelly currently serves as a top adviser to U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Mike Leavitt. Prior to that role, she headed the Office of Policy for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and served as a top lobbyist for the Advanced Medical Technology Association.

• Pam Pryor has been named project director of Americans for Redistricting Reform, an effort backed by a coalition of organizations that will launch officially in 2008. Pryor served previously as chief of staff for former Rep. J.C. Watts (R-Okla.) and oversaw communications for Watts in his role as chairman of the House Republican Conference.

• Anders Gilberg has rejoined the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) as vice president for public and private economic affairs. Gilberg comes from the American Medical Association, where he served as assistant director for federal affairs. He previously worked for MGMA as a lobbyist.

• David Hirschmann has been appointed president and chief executive of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Global Intellectual Property Center. Arthur J. Rothkopf will succeed Hirschman as head of the National Chamber Foundation, a think tank affiliated with the Chamber.
