• Jim Bonham has been hired by Steptoe & Johnson as the firm’s new managing director of its government affairs and public policy practice. Bonham was the former chief of staff for the late Rep. Bob Matsui (D-Calif.) and the executive director for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). Bonham joined the DCCC in 2002 and is credited with helping turn around the group’s fortunes, leading to the House Democrats’ takeover of that chamber in the 2006 midterm elections.

{mosads} • The National Cable and Telecommunications Association hired two lobbyists. Daphna Peled joins NCTA from the Motion Picture Association of America, where she served as vice president and senior counsel in the federal affairs and policy division. Peled previously worked as legislative counsel for Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.) and as legislative director and counsel for Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.). Lon Goldstein, meanwhile, is returning to NCTA after a brief stint at Merrill Lynch, where he had served as director of government relations since June of 2008. Both Peled and Goldstein will join NCTA as vice presidents of government affairs.

• Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a breast cancer advocacy group, has added Gail Marcus, Gary Dicovitsky and Martina “Tina” Hone to its organization. Marcus, former president and chief executive officer of Caris Diagnostics, will be the new chief financial officer. Most recently at the California Institute of Technology, Dicovitsky will be the new vice president of public policy. Hone, once executive director of CQ Events and a House Judiciary Committee counsel, will be vice president of public policy.

• Janet McGregor is joining the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) as its new chief operating and financial officer. Prior to being hired by the trade group, McGregor worked at Lockheed Martin for 26 years, most recently as president and chief executive officer of its investment management company. At NAB, McGregor will be responsible for several different departments, including conventions, science and technology as well as administration.{mosads}
