• CLIMATE. Paul Cicio is lobbying for the Business Roundtable on energy and environmental issues, including efforts to regulate carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions, lobbying records show.

{mosads}Americans for Affordable Climate Policy hired Hunton & Williams to lobby on climate and energy legislation, including efforts to mandate that utilities produce a certain percentage of their electricity from renewable-energy sources, lobbying records show. Mark Menezes, former chief counsel to the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and Sean Cunningham, another former counsel to the House panel, are representing the group.

• ENERGY. Alcalde & Fay is lobbying for Perpetual Energy Systems, which installs solar energy distributed generation systems.

Birch, Horton, Bittner & Cherot is lobbying for Florida Power & Light Co. William Horn, former assistant secretary at the Interior Department, is lobbying for the energy utility on a land exchange issue.

Bracewell & Giuliani is lobbying for Tesoro Refining Co. on issues relating to taxes and environmental regulations.

• HOUSING. The Fix Housing First Coalition hired Kenneth Gear to lobby in support of a mortgage rate buy-down and homebuyer tax credits in the economic stimulus package.

• INFRASTRUCTURE. American Continental Group is lobbying for the Buffalo Sewer Authority on “appropriations and environmental issues,” according to lobbying records.

• LOCAL GOVERNMENT. South Daytona Beach, Fla., hired Marlowe & Co. to lobby for federal appropriations, lobbying records show.

• PHARMACEUTICALS. The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America hired Capitol Counsel to lobby on Medicare Part D, the Children’s Health Insurance Program and other issues related to the drug industry.

• RENEWABLES. The Pellet Fuels Institute hired Holland & Knight to lobby on federal policies that support biofuel production. Former Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell (R-Colo.) is helping the institute lobby Congress.

• TOBACCO. Luman Lange Thomas & McMullen is lobbying for the American Wholesale Marketers Association on a federal excise tax on tobacco and Food and Drug Administration regulation of tobacco.
