Former Rep. John Culberson (R-Texas) has joined Clark Hill’s government and public affairs practice.
Culberson will work in both the Washington, D.C., and Houston offices. He represented Texas’s 7th Congressional District, which includes west Houston, since 2001.
He lost his reelection race to Democrat Lizzie Fletcher in 2018.
“John’s arrival is a game-changer for our government affairs practice and the firm’s clients,” Kevin Kelly, co-leader of the practice, said in a statement. “The level of experience that John brings to the firm solidifies our position as a premier bi-partisan lobbying and government affairs resource for individuals and organizations seeking a voice in the development and implementation of public policies and regulatory strategies.”
Culberson, while he was in Congress, worked with Kelly, he said.
“Clark Hill provides an ideal platform for transitioning from government service to private practice,” the former congressman added.
He was a member of the House Appropriations Committee and chaired the Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies. He was also part of the Republican Study Committee and Tea Party Caucus.
