Lanny Davis moves to new lobby shop
Attorney and lobbyist Lanny Davis joined McDermott Will & Emery on Thursday.
Davis, a former White House special counsel to President Bill Clinton, left Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe to join his new firm’s regulatory and government strategies practice group as a partner. He was also a well-known supporter of then-Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s (D-N.Y.) 2008 presidential campaign. At McDermott, Davis plans to continue to advise clients in crisis management while working on litigation and media outreach.
{mosads}Joining Davis from Orrick at the new firm is Eileen O’Connor. O’Connor will be counsel at McDermott. She spent 24 years in journalism, working at ABC News and CNN, including serving as Moscow bureau chief and White House correspondent for the latter network. O’Connor is also an attorney and serves as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University School of Law.
“We look forward to expanding our practice further with the regulatory and government strategies group at McDermott and appreciate the opportunity for global growth given to us at Orrick for this unique practice at the intersection of politics, the media and the law,” Davis and O’Connor said in a statement announcing their move.
Davis is a columnist for The Hill and contributor to The Hill’s Pundits Blog.
