US Bancorp hires ex-Wachovia lobbyist
Price, who worked previously in government affairs at
Wachovia, will soon join US Bank, a subsidiary of US Bancorp, sources said.
{mosads}The bank has recently assumed a larger role in Washington, and
CEO Richard Davis is chairman of the board of the Financial Services
Roundtable, the 100-member financial trade association based in the nation’s capital. US
Bank is one of several large banks expanding government
affairs offices in Washington.
Davis also became a member of the Financial Services Forum,
an association of CEOs of 18 of the largest financial firms.
Price was registered as a lobbyist at Wachovia for more than
five years before the bank closed its lobbying office in the fourth quarter of
2008, according to congressional lobbying records.
Wells Fargo took over ailing Wachovia during the height of
the financial crisis.
US Bancorp did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
