• ENERGY. The Washington Tax Group has been hired by Solyndra Inc., a solar energy company, to lobby on the Solar Manufacturing Jobs Creation Act. Noushin Jahanian, the former legislative counsel for Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), is lobbying for the company. 

• FINANCIAL SERVICES. The Harold Ford Group has been hired by Jackson Partners JV, a New Orleans-based securities firm, to lobby on government actions that may affect the financial-services industry. Former Rep. Harold Ford Sr. (D-Tenn.) is lobbying for the company. 

{mosads}PricewaterhouseCoopers has hired Ogilvy Government Relations to lobby on “issues related to accounting,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Wayne Berman, a former assistant Commerce secretary, is lobbying for the accounting giant. 

• FOREIGN POLICY. The Better World Fund, a nonprofit group committed to building private-public partnerships, has hired BGR Government Affairs. Loren Monroe, former legislative aide to ex-Sen. Pete Domenici (R-N.M.), will “provide strategic counsel on U.N.-related issues,” according to lobbying disclosure records. 

• HEALTHCARE. The Stanton Park Group has been hired by Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc. to lobby on “awareness of the hepatitis C virus, the rising costs associated with the disease and the need for greater emphasis on testing for and treatment of the disease,” according to lobbying disclosure records. James “J.D.” Derderian, a former chief of staff for the House Energy and Commerce Committee, is lobbying for the company. 

On-e Healthcare, a firm that develops software to prevent healthcare fraud and abuse, has hired Alston & Bird to lobby for funding either through legislation or grants for “authentication technologies,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Marc Scheineson, a Food and Drug Administration associate commissioner for legislative affairs, is working on the account. 

• TAX. Williams & Jensen has been hired by the National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems to lobby on “issues affecting the public pension community,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Christopher Hatcher, the former legislative director for ex-Rep. Scott McInnis (R-Colo.), is working on the account.
