• ENVIRONMENT. Greenberg Traurig has been hired by Gage’s Long Creek Marina Inc., a Hollister, Mo., public marina, to lobby on “issues related to the marina at Table Rock Lake,” according to lobbying disclosure records.
{mosads}• FINANCIAL SERVICES. The Managed Funds Association has hired Capitol Counsel to lobby on financial-services regulations and tax reform issues. Former Rep. Jim McCrery (R-La.), the ex-ranking member of the House Ways and Means Committee, is working on the account.
Prime Policy Group has been hired by the National Retail Federation to lobby on “interchange for financial reform” and “card-check,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Vickie Walling, former chief of staff for Rep. John Tanner (D-Tenn.), is lobbying for the trade group.
• HEALTHCARE. The Diabetes Access to Care Coalition hired McDermott Will & Emery to lobby on the Medicare medical equipment supplies competitive bidding program. Shelia Walcoff, once counselor to former Health and Human Services Secretary Michael Leavitt, is lobbying for the coalition.
Van Scoyoc Associates has been hired by the National Network of Depression Centers to lobby on “depression related issues and initiatives,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Edward Long, a former aide to Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), is working on the account.
• HOUSING. The National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association has hired GolinHarris to lobby for “education and awareness about the importance of the reverse mortgage program as a financial option for older Americans,” according to lobbying disclosure records. R. Lane Bailey, former chief of staff for Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.), and Michael Fulton, former aide to Rep. Alan Mollohan (D-W.Va.), are lobbying for the trade group.
• TAX. K&L Gates is lobbying for Optcapital, an executive benefits consulting firm, on supporting “modification of Internal Revenue Code section 457A to be included in technical corrections legislation,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Daniel Crowley, a Republican and former general counsel to the House Speaker’s office, and Patrick Heck, a former aide to Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), are working on the account.
