•APPROPRIATIONS. The Ferguson Group has been hired by the City of Bainbridge, Ga., to lobby on “energy and water, environmental issues; transportation; [and] economic and community development,” according to lobbying disclosure records.

•ENVIRONMENT. Quinn Gillespie & Associates has been hired by mining company Hecla Limited to lobby on the “modification of the EPA’s proposed remediation plan for the Upper Basin of the Couer d’Alene Valley Superfund site,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Kevin Kayes, former chief counsel to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), and Dave Hoppe, former chief of staff to former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott (R-Miss.), are lobbying for the company.

{mosads}•FINANCIAL SERVICES. Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck has been hired by the financial-services company Chotin Group to lobby on “issues relating to residual class holders of REMIC issues,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Michael Levy, a former Treasury Department senior adviser, and Regina Mahony, once senior policy adviser to House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), are lobbying for the company.

PNC Bank has hired K&L Gates to lobby on “issues relating to implementation of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Daniel Crowley, former general counsel for the Office of the Speaker, is lobbying for the bank.

•HEALTHCARE. Bristol-Myers Squibb has hired Ogilvy Government Relations to lobby on “issues related to healthcare, Medicare, Medicaid and mental health,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Steve Tilton, once health policy coordinator for the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and Mike Hogan, former deputy chief of staff to Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.), are lobbying for the company.

•TAX. General Motors has hired Roberti Associates to lobby on “issues related to taxes and trade,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Meghan Johnson, former chief of staff to Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-Calif.), is lobbying for the company.

New York Life Insurance Co. has hired Washington Council Ernst & Young to lobby on tax policy issues stemming from President Obama’s fiscal 2012 budget proposal and Labor Department regulations coming from the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. Nick Giordano, former chief tax counsel to the Senate Finance Committee’s Democratic staff, and Dave Koshgarian, once chief of staff to then-Rep. Ben Cardin (D-Md.), are lobbying for the company.
