McDermott Will & Emery has been hired by Firetrace Aerospace, which manufactures a fuel tank fire suppression system for the military and law enforcement, to lobby on “fire explosion technology; fire suppression systems,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Edward Eynon, former deputy chief of staff for ex-Rep. John Shadegg (R-Ariz.), and Erica Stocker, once deputy chief of staff for Rep. Jim Saxton (R-N.J.), are lobbying for the company.
•EDUCATION. The Association of Private Sector College and Universities has hired McGuireWoods Consulting to lobby on “issues affecting private-sector post-secondary education including financial assistance to veterans and member institutions eligibility for educational assistance,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Former Rep. L.F. Payne (D-Va.) and Frank Donatelli, former deputy Republican National Committee chairman and an ex-senior Reagan White House aide, are lobbying for the trade group.
{mosads}•ENERGY. Hill & Knowlton has been hired by Enbridge Energy Co. Inc., a Houston-based energy transportation company, to “provide federal lobbying and strategic counsel services with regards to client’s oil and natural gas pipelines in North America,” according to lobbying disclosure records.
•HEALTHCARE. AARP has hired TKB Global Strategies to lobby on “issues before the Deficit Reduction Act supercommittee, including Medicare, Social Security and retirement issues,” according to lobbying disclosure records.
•TAX. Missy Edwards Strategies has been hired by Westfield, a Los Angeles-based shopping center developer, to lobby on the Real Estate Investment and Jobs Act in both the House and the Senate, according to lobbying disclosure records. Missy Edwards, former legislative assistant to Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.), is lobbying for the company.
•TECHNOLOGY. Google has hired Tuggey Fernandez to provide “advocacy and education for issues relating to information technology,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Wallace Henderson, ex-chief of staff to former Sen. John Breaux (D-La.) and ex-Rep. Billy Tauzin (R-La.), is lobbying for the search giant.
