• DEFENSE. The Roosevelt Group has been hired by MassDevelopment, the finance and development authority for the state of Massachusetts, to “assist with military base and mission enhancement,” according to lobbying disclosure records.
Lugar Hellmann Group has been hired by Boeing to lobby on “issues related to Export-Import Bank reauthorization [and] issues related to defense spending,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Ralph Hellmann, former policy director for ex-House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.), is lobbying for the company.

Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck has been hired by Progress Energy, an electrical utility company based in Raleigh, N.C., to lobby on “federal policy affecting the utility industry,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Elizabeth Gore, former chief of staff to ex-Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.), and Al Mottur, former senior communications counsel for the Senate Commerce Committee, are lobbying for the company.
• HEALTHCARE. Patton Boggs has been hired by Pozen Inc., a Chapel Hill, N.C.-based pharmaceutical manufacturer, to lobby on “healthcare coverage of pharmaceuticals,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Todd Tuten, a former chief of staff for ex-Rep. Michael Bilirakis (R-Fla.), and Heide Bajnrauh, once an aide to Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), are lobbying for the company.
• TRADE. Peck, Madigan, Jones & Stewart Inc. has been hired by Whirlpool Corp. to lobby on “manufacturing competitiveness [and] enforcement of trade laws,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Jonathon Jones, former chief of staff to Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.), and Andrew McKechnie, once a policy adviser to the Senate Finance Committee, are lobbying for the company.
• TOURISM. McDermott Will & Emery has been hired by the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds to lobby on “Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other legislative activity impacting campgrounds and parks,” according to lobbying disclosure records. David Ransom, former senior communications and policy adviser to then-House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), and W. Kam Quarles, former legislative assistant for Rep. Ken Calvert (R-Calif.), are lobbying for the trade group.
Steptoe & Johnson has been hired by the U.S. Travel Association to lobby on “issues relating to travel and tourism,” according to lobbying disclosure records.
