• Jeff Sadosky, the managing director for the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), will be joining the government affairs firm Forbes-Tate as a senior vice president and will help to build out a public affairs practice within the firm. Prior to working at BIO, he served as the communications director for Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio). He also has experience working for campaigns, helping out with the Bush-Cheney ticket in 2004 and Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) bid for president in 2008.
• McBee Strategic Consulting has named Erin Neal an executive vice president in the firm’s advocacy unit. Neal comes from the government relations shop within aerospace company Orbital ATK. Prior to that, she worked at Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. and as a senior aide to Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) while he served on the Senate Budget and Commerce committees. She also worked within NASA and in the offices of two House members.
• Foley & Lardner hired Jennifer Walsh as a director of public affairs in the firm’s Washington office. She will be working with her former boss, ex-Rep. Dennis Cardoza (D-Calif.), for whom she served as chief of staff, in the firm’s federal public affairs practice. She specializes in healthcare policy and helping with legislation and regulatory policy. Walsh began her political career working for former Rep. Vic Fazio (D-Calif.) and eventually left Capitol Hill in 2011 to become the vice president for federal government affairs at UnitedHealth Group.
• Porter Novelli is expanding its presence in Washington, hiring Ryan Kuresman as a senior vice president to lead the office’s public affairs and corporate communications practice. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at APCO Worldwide as a vice president and director within the corporate communications and issues management practice. Kuresman has experience working on policy and consumer issues at the state, national and international levels with clients in the travel and entertainment, transportation, agriculture, and healthcare sectors.
• Former California Assemblyman Roger Dickinson has joined Greenberg Traurig as a shareholder in its government law and policy practice. He will be located in the law and lobby firm’s Sacramento office.
