According to federal documents, the worth of the contract — awarded to Optimal Solutions & Technologies — is estimated at $131 million. It will be the primary go-to for the agency’s Write Your Own (WYO) program, which “allows participating property and casualty insurance companies to write and service the Standard Flood Insurance Policy in their own names.” FEMA says there are 5.6 million National Flood Insurance Program policies in place, sold and serviced through more than 80 private insurance companies participating in WYO. Services will include a wide-ranging suite of project management and support services, including ensuring “the financial integrity of the program.”
