• The National Governors Association has chosen Scott Pattison as its new executive director and CEO, coming from the National Association of State Budget Officers. He has served as the executive director of that organization since 2001. He also headed up the Virginia Department of Planning and Budget.
• The American Bankers Association’s Card Policy Council has named Jess Sharp as it senior vice president and executive director. The council handles matters on behalf of credit card issuers and payment networks. Sharp will arrive in the new post next week from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where he served as managing director of the Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness.
{mosads}• Joel Foster and Mac D’Alessandro are joining Naral Pro-Choice America, where they will serve as the group’s political director and senior director for special projects, respectively. Foster formerly worked at the Women’s Equality Center, the Progressive States Action and the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center. D’Alessandro worked at consulting firm Democracy Partners and spent 12 years at the Service Employees International Union.
• Wade Henderson announced that he is stepping down from the top spot at The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights at the end of the year after a two-decade tenure. He has expanded the coalition’s membership from 180 to more than 200 organizations, grown the staff from seven to 45 and taken a leading role in civil rights causes such as the use of police body cameras and preserving the Voting Rights Act.
• The Recording Academy has promoted Todd Dupler to senior director of advocacy and public policy. Prior to joining the organization, he worked on Capitol Hill and served on the staff of Texas Republican Reps. Lamar Smith and Kevin Brady.
• The bipartisan firm The Roosevelt Group has brought on three new members: Kathleen Ferguson, Kevin Felix and Albert Calamug. Ferguson served almost 35 years in the Air Force, most recently as the principal deputy assistant secretary and acting deputy assistant secretary for installations, environment and energy. Felix spent three decades in the Army and comes from a post as the chief of the Future Warfare Division for the Army Capabilities Integration Center (ARCIC). Calamug served with the Marine Corps, including as the key liaison between the branch and Congress.
