• The Association for Accessible Medicines (AAM) hired Kristin Murphy away from the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association to serve as the director of federal government affairs. The organization also promoted Michael Brzica, who has been with AAM since 2015, to vice president of federal government affairs. 

Booz Allen Hamilton brought on Mara Motherway as its head of government relations for the firm. Her resume includes working in both the public and private sectors, including working at defense contractor BAE Systems and as the principal strategic adviser to the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency. 

{mosads}• David Horowitz, the former deputy general counsel of the Department of Health and Human Services, has joined Hogan Lovells as a partner. Horowitz also spent nearly two decades with the Food and Drug Administration, including serving as head of drug compliance and assistant commissioner for policy. 

• The Chamber Technology Engagement Center, within the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, has named Julie Stitzel as its managing director. Prior to that, she was the senior manager for advocacy and policy at Etsy.

• The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America has promoted Charles Symington Jr. to senior vice president for external, industry and government affairs. He has been with the group since 2004 and previously served on the House Financial Services Committee. 

Salih Booker has been tapped to succeed William Goodfellow as the executive director of the Center for International Policy, beginning the gig on Sept. 1. Previously, Booker worked at the United States Institute of Peace as the vice president of external relations and as an adviser to the executive secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. 

OFW Law, a firm specializing in the Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration, is founding a health industry policy and regulation practice — and it has chosen Ladd Wiley to lead it. Wiley, who joined the firm from Akin Gump in June, has held senior roles at the Department of Health and Human Services. 

• As Forbes Tate Partners continues to expand, it is adding Steven Palmer as a partner in its state and local government and public affairs practice. Prior to that, he served as the managing director and national director of Grayling’s state and local government affairs practice.

• The Partnership for a Healthier America announced that Nancy Roman would become its president and CEO on Sept. 5, succeeding Larry Soler. She is the president and CEO of the Capital Area Food Bank, a Washington, D.C.-based organization combating hunger in the region.
