• ENERGY. The Environmental Defense Fund has hired the National Group to lobby for federal appropriations, lobbying records show.
Tonkon Torp of Portland, Ore., is lobbying for PacifiCorp., a Portland-based electric utility, federal lobbying records show.

J.M. Burkman & Associates is lobbying for Urban Green Energy, a wind energy company. The firm is promoting wind energy on Capitol Hill, according to the lobbying registration.

Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is lobbying for Florida Power & Light Co. on renewable energy production tax credits, federal lobbying records show. Michael Levy, former senior adviser to then-Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin, and others are lobbying for FPL.

• ENVIRONMENT. JBS Communications is lobbying for the U.S. Coal Corp. in Lexington, Ky., on the Clean Water Act and other mining permit issues, according to federal records.

• FINANCIAL SERVICES. Breaux Lott Leadership Group is lobbying for Goldman Sachs Group on financial reform and tax issues. The lobbying team includes former Sen. John Breaux (D-La.).

Patton Boggs is lobbying for Cantor Futures Exchange, in New York. Micah Green is lobbying on financial reform legislation, according to federal lobbying records.

• GUNS. Prime Policy Group is lobbying for the National Rifle Association. Vickie Walling, former chief of staff to Rep. John Tanner (D-Tenn.), is lobbying on campaign finance reform legislation and gun rights for D.C. residents, federal lobbying records show.

• REAL ESTATE. Bockorny Group is lobbying for the Real Estate Roundtable. David Bockorny, Martin DePoy and Michaela Sims, former legislative counsel to Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.), are lobbying for the trade group on tax legislation.

• RENEWABLES. Bingham McCutchen is lobbying for the Canola Council of Canada on regulations implementing the Renewable Fuels Standard. Sandra Franco and Chuck Knauss, former minority counsel to the House Energy and Commerce Committee, are lobbying for the trade group.

Iberdrola Renewables hired Baker Donelson to lobby on issues relating to wind energy, federal lobbying records show. Mark Van de Water and James Keith Kennedy, former Senate Appropriations Committee staff aides, are lobbying for Iberdrola.
