• Katy Cannon has started the Cannon Group, a political fundraising and consulting firm. Cannon previously worked at the Gula Graham Group for two years as a senior account executive. Before that, she worked as a political assistant at Epiphany Productions, where she worked on events for the 2008 Republican National Convention and helped coordinate fundraising and voter efforts for candidates and congressmen.

• Leslee Gilbert will join Van Scoyoc Associates as a vice president. Gilbert leaves the House Science, Space and Technology Committee, where she was staff director and counsel. Before that, she worked on the committee as Republican staff director. She has also served on the staff of Rep. Ralph Hall (R-Texas).

{mosads}• Robert Stoll is coming to Drinker Biddle & Reath to be an intellectual property practice group partner. Stoll previously served as the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office commissioner for patents. Before that, he served as the USPTO dean of training and education, director of the Office of Enforcement and administrator of the Office of Legislative and International Affairs.

• Leonardo Alcivar has joined Hynes Communications to be the firm’s senior vice president of public affairs. Alcivar has worked on campaigns, most recently as communications director for Bill Brady’s Illinois gubernatorial campaign. He has also served as a consultant for the Republican Governors Association and press secretary for the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City. He will work in Boston.

• John Courson has started working for the Home Builders Institute as the group’s president and chief executive officer. Courson worked for the Mortgage Bankers Association as its president and chief executive officer from 2008 to 2011. He previously served as the association’s chairman.

•Jennifer McCadney has joined Kelley Drye & Warren to be the firm’s special counsel. McCadney, who will work in the Washington office, most recently left her position as trade counsel of the House Ways and Means Trade subcommittee. She has also worked for Rep. Sandy Levin (D-Mich.) as trade and tax counsel and at Collier Shannon Scott as an international trade and customs associate.
