• The Bockorny Group has hired Erich Mische and Blair Larkins. Mische was chief of staff to former Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.). Larkins was an aide to Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.), who led the new House Republican majority’s transition team. 

{mosads}• SKDKnickerbocker has hired Doug Thornell as senior vice president and Anna Bell F. Gall as vice president. Thornell was an aide to Rep. Chris Van Hollen (Md.), the former chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). Before that, he was national press secretary to the DCCC. Gall comes to the firm from DCI Group, where she was a director. She also was an aide for Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), the House’s minority whip, from 2002 to 2005, and worked as a media and legislative coordinator for the Association for Justice. 

• Hamilton Place Strategies has hired Matt McDonald as partner and Noah Chestnut as director of digital media. McDonald most recently worked for McKinsey & Co. and before that was a senior adviser to Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) 2008 presidential campaign. He also worked in President George W. Bush’s White House as associate communications director. Chestnut was director for digital media at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.

• Glenn Ivey has joined Venable as a partner in its white-collar and government investigations practice. He will work out of the firm’s Washington and Baltimore offices. Ivey is the two-term, outgoing state’s attorney for Prince George’s County, Md. He has also worked on Capitol Hill, serving as chief counsel to former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.), among other positions. Ivey also worked with current Attorney General Eric Holder as an assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia from 1990 to 1994. 

• David Joy has also joined Venable as of counsel. He comes from the Food and Drug Administration, where he was a senior staff attorney in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. Before that, Joy worked in the Washington office of Keller and Heckman.
