Olsson Frank Weeda Terman Bode Matz has been hired by Farmer Mac, an agriculture loan provider, to “work to promote Farmer Mac’s interests in anticipation of the Farm Bill,” according to lobbying disclosure forms. Former Rep. Charlie Stenholm (D-Texas) is lobbying for the loan provider.

Chicago State University has hired Barnes & Thornburg to lobby on “all legislative action concerning higher education and the financing thereof,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Richard Boykin, former chief of staff to Rep. Danny Davis (D-Ill.), is lobbying for the university.

•ENERGY. G2 Energy, an Atlanta-based methane gas energy producer, has hired the Majority Group to work with “the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development on potential grant applications,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Former Rep. Walt Minnick (D-Idaho) and Robert Ellsworth, Minnick’s chief of staff when he was in Congress, are lobbying for the company.

•FINANCIAL SERVICES. The Clearing House Payments Co. has hired the Rich Feuer Group to lobby on “implementation of the Dodd-Frank Act,” according to lobbying disclosure forms. Peter Rich, former counsel to the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and Mitchell Feuer, former counsel to the Senate Banking Committee, are lobbying for the company.

•TECHNOLOGY. Podesta Group has been hired the Open Mobile Video Coalition to lobby on ‘Mobile DTV,’ according to lobbying disclosure forms. David Morgensten, once chief of staff to Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), and Dale Oak, a former staff assistant at the House Appropriations Committee, are lobbying for the coalition.

•TRADE. Clark Lytle & Geduldig has been hired by Whirlpool Corp. to lobby on “issues related to manufacturing, international tax and free trade agreements with Colombia, Panama and Korea,” according to lobbying disclosure forms. Sam Geduldig, a former senior adviser to then-House Majority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), and former Rep. Deborah Pryce (R-Ohio) are lobbying for the coalition.

Levi Strauss & Co. has hired TradeWins to lobby on “trade agreements, trade legislation, preferences, brand protection, market access,” according to lobbying disclosure forms.
