• The Project On Government Oversight (POGO) hired Marine Corps Capt. Daniel Grazier to “advocate for Pentagon budget reforms that rein in programs that make little strategic sense, while supporting resources that increase combat effectiveness,” the organization said. Grazier served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and, before joining the Marines in 2005, he worked as a journalist in Maryland and Missouri.
• K&L Gates has named Roderick Hall as a government affairs adviser in the firm’s Washington office, where he will concentrate on transportation policy. Before that, he served as the assistant administrator for government affairs at the Federal Aviation Administration. Hall also has Capitol Hill experienced, having worked as the deputy chief of staff and associate professional staff member to Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas), a senior member on the House Transportation and Infrastructure, and Science committees.
• Allison Jaslow, a former chief of staff to Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.), is now working in the policy shop for the Human Rights Campaign. She began last month as a program director of policy and political affairs at the organization, which advocates for LGBT rights. Jaslow also has experience working with former Rep. Steve Kagen (D-Wis.) and former Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va.).
• Human Rights First hired a new senior director of government relations, Maurice Daniel. He comes from Integrated Capital Strategies, an asset management and financial services firm, where he served as managing director and led its government affairs efforts. In addition to his private sector experience, Daniel served as the national director of political affairs for Vice President Al Gore and chief of staff to Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.).
• Daniel Jarcho has departed from McKenna Long & Aldridge ahead of the firm’s merger with the law firm Dentons, joining Alston & Bird as a litigation partner. He has represented several major clients before the federal government in litigation based on the Administrative Procedure Act. Jarcho previously worked as a trial attorney in the Justice Department’s Division’s Office of Consumer Litigation.
