Israel “Izzy” Klein has left the Podesta Group for a small lobby shop, which is rebranding itself as Roberti Global: Irizarry-Klein-Roberti. He will serve as a managing partner at the firm, which has offices in Washington and New York. Prior to joining Podesta in 2009, Klein served as a senior aide to Democratic Sens. Charles Schumer (N.Y.) and Ed Markey (Mass.).

The Portland Cement Association hired Rachel Derby to serve as vice president of government affairs and promoted two others. Derby previously worked as a lobbyist for the Toy Industry Association and the National Association of Police Organizations. She also has Capitol Hill experience as an aide to former Sens. George LeMieux (R-Fla.) and Mel Martinez (R-Fla.). A. Todd Johnston has been promoted to executive vice president of government affairs, and Collin Long has been promoted to senior director of government affairs.

Julie Nolan, who lobbied at law and lobby firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, has become a legislative assistant for Rep. Pat Meehan (R-Pa.), according to congressional tracking website LegiStorm. She has been in the lobbying world for about a decade and has worked at Squire Patton Boggs, but she also spent a year on the staff of former Sen. Dick Lugar (R-Ind.). 

The Financial Services Roundtable brought on Murray Kenyon, who comes from the National Security Agency (NSA), and Heather Hogsett of the National Governors Association (NGA). Both will be focused on cybersecurity, fraud and technology issues. Kenyon served more than three decades at the NSA, taking the lead on educating infrastructure executives on how to avoid and mitigate cyber threats and information sharing within the financial services sector. Hogsett worked as the staff director for federal relations at the NGA. She helped establish the Council of Governors, which brings together presidentially appointed governors, White House officials and the leaders of the departments of Defense and Homeland Security.  

Digital advocacy and consulting firm IMGE has brought on seven staffers, including Kate Faherty, who will serve as a senior strategist for the email marketing and online fundraising department. She re-joins the firm after a stint on the presidential campaign of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker. Another hire, Katie Loperfido, will serve as a senior account manager, coming from the Beekeeper Group.
