CRD Associates has hired Erin Will Morton to establish and lead a global health practice as a senior vice president. Before that, she was the director of external affairs at the TB Alliance in New York City. 

NCTA – The Internet & Television Association promoted Brian Dietz to senior vice president for strategic communications, a role in which he will spearhead efforts surrounding media relations, digital communications and industry relations. NCTA has also named Rob Stoddard a senior vice president for industry and association affairs. He’ll lead a department that focuses on public affairs, member relations and NCTA meetings and events.

{mosads}Reingold hired Joshua Lamel away from BGR Group to help grow its public policy and advocacy practice. He previously worked in senior roles at the Computer and Communications Industry Association and the public relations firm Hill+Knowlton Strategies. On Capitol Hill, Lamel worked for Sen. Ron Wyden (R-Ore.) and former Rep. Kendrick Meek (D-Fla.).

Helen Tolar, former chief of staff to Sen. John Boozman (R-Ark.), has joined the lobbying firm Troutman Sanders Strategies. Tolar served in Boozman’s office for just more than four years, but has about 13 years of experience on Capitol Hill.  She previously served as the staff director and chief counsel of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee. In the private sector, she has worked at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and the National Association of Realtors’ South Carolina state affiliate.

Most recently the assistant to the U.S. solicitor general, Nicole Saharsky has joined the law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher as a partner in its Washington office. She will serve as co-chairwoman of the appellate and constitutional law practice group.

The American Insurance Association has named former New Jersey Attorney General John Degnan as its new president and CEO. He most recently served as the chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, but announced his resignation in August. He previously served as the chief operating officer of the Chubb Corporation, one of the world’s largest property and casualty insurance companies.
