Bottom Line
PUERTO RICO. The law and lobby firm Foley & Lardner filed its registration paperwork for its work on behalf of Whitefish Energy, the two-person Montana company that won a controversial contract to help bring power back to hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico. Last month, Politico reported that former Rep. Dennis Cardoza (D-Calif.), who is now with Foley & Lardner, would be taking meetings on Capitol Hill to press the case the company deserved to receive the contract, which has since been canceled. Lawmakers were calling for an investigation into how the contract was awarded. Newly filed disclosures show that former Republican Rep. Scott Klug (Wis.) and three other lobbyists are working on the account.
