• The Williams Companies, an Oklahoma-based natural gas pipeline firm, has named Amanda Mertens Campbell as the head of its Washington office. She most recently worked at General Electric, but previously worked for Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.) when he was ranking member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

• BlueWater Strategies has acquired The Furman Group. The two advocacy firms had previously worked together on projects. McKie Campbell, managing partner of BlueWater Strategies, will serve as chief executive. Hal Furman, co-founder and chairman of The Furman Group, will be of counsel.

{mosads}• The American Investment Council brought on Emily Schillinger to serve as vice president of public affairs. Before that, she was the communications director for the House Ways & Means Committee and previously worked for former Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio), Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) and in the George W. Bush administration.

• Art Cameron has become the vice president of federal legislative affairs for Boeing’s government operations organization. He’s been with Boeing since 2011, most recently working as vice president of appropriations for government operations. He also spent 17 years working on Capitol Hill. Cameron succeeds Jeff Shockey, who has been tapped to head up the defense contractor’s defense, space and security sales team.

• Robert Jones, who first joined Pfizer in 2002, has been named the senior vice president of U.S. government relations and will lead the drug company’s state and federal lobbying efforts, effective Feb. 15. He has been leading Pfizer’s state lobbying since 2013. Pfizer’s Ken Cole has been appointed senior adviser and will “work on special projects with Corporate Affairs and the Company’s Executive Leadership Team,” the company said in a statement. 

• The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s international affairs division has hired Charles Freeman to serve as a senior vice president for Asia. The Chamber also promoted Neil Herrington to senior vice president for the Americas. Freeman most recently served as a managing director for China at Bower Group Asia.
