•Matt Mackowiak has launched Potomac Strategy Group, a Republican political consulting and public affairs firm. Mackowiak is the former press secretary for Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) and then-Sen. Conrad Burns (R-Mont.). He also worked in the Homeland Security Department and on the 2004 Bush-Cheney reelection campaign.

•Sally Katzen has joined the Podesta Group as its new executive managing director. She served during the Clinton administration as the deputy director for management at the Office of Management and Budget, a deputy assistant to the president for economic policy and deputy director of the National Economic Council. Katzen also was the first female partner at Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering.

{mosads}• Catherine A. “Kiki” McLean has been hired by Porter Novelli as a partner, global head of public affairs and managing director of the agency’s Washington office. McLean was an adviser to then-Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s (D-N.Y.) 2008 presidential campaign and served as a spokeswoman for then-Vice President Al Gore’s 2000 presidential run. McLean most recently was a partner for the Dewey Square Group.

• Bart Peterson has been hired by Eli Lilly and Co. as senior vice president of corporate affairs and communications. He served two terms as mayor of Indianapolis, from 1999 to 2007. Peterson also worked as chief of staff for then-Indiana Gov. Evan Bayh (D).

• Nancy Glick has joined MS&L as senior vice president and will head its Washington health and nutrition affairs practice. She was formerly with Ruder Finn. Glick served as a press officer at the Food and Drug Administration and for the U.S. Office of Consumer Affairs.

• James B. Comey has been elected as chairman of the board of directors for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s National Chamber Litigation Center (NCLC). Comey is senior vice president and general counsel of Lockheed Martin Corp. He served as deputy attorney general in the Bush administration and also was the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York. Paul Clement, former U.S. solicitor general, has been elected to the NCLC’s board as well.
