HEALTH CARE. CVS Health recently hired Fulcrum Public Affairs to work on issues related to expanding health care access and pharmacy benefit managers, according to disclosures. Oscar Ramirez, former special assistant at the Labor Department; Dana Thompson, former chief counsel to Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.); and Aaron Trujillo, former Commerce Department senior adviser, will work on the account.
Fulcrum Public Affairs also signed Fresenius Medical Care Holdings, Inc., which offers kidney dialysis services, to work on general issues related to kidney health care services. Ramirez, Thompson and Trujillo will also work on the account.
ENVIRONMENT. The State of Maine Department of Marine Resources hired Capitol Hill Policy Group to work on issues related to fishery management and regulation. Todd Bertoson, former staff director of the Senate Commerce Committee, will work on the account.{mosads}
The International Wood Products Association hired Sorini, Samet & Associates to work on issues related to illegal logging and formaldehyde emissions. Daniel Neumann, former policy analyst at the Joint Economic Committee, and others will work on the account.
WORKFORCE. The Professional Certification Coalition hired Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman to work on professional certification issues and the Next Step Act, which is a criminal justice bill signed by President Trump last year. Craig Saperstein, former legislative aide to ex-Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.), will work on the account.
