Holland & Knight LLP named Nasim Fussell a partner in its International Trade Group. She was previously chief international trade counsel for Republicans on the Senate Finance Committee. Before that she was trade counsel for Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee and a customs attorney at General Motors Co.

Renée Johnson will join Public Private Strategies, effective Sept. 8, to support the launch of the firm’s new initiative focused on helping Black, Latino and minority small business owners. She previously was senior government affairs manager at the Main Street Alliance and before that was director of government affairs and outreach at the Small Business Majority.

Paul Bock was named a partner at Thorn Run Partners. He previously was a partner at Holland & Knight for over seven years and before that was a vice president at Capitol Hill Strategies. He was the Senate liaison for former President Obama’s transition team and was chief of staff to ex-Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wis.).

Francisco Pelayo, former deputy director of communications for Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), will be on the media relations team at IBM Corp. Before Menendez’s office, he worked as Hispanic media director and regional press secretary for the Democratic National Committee.
