Bose Public Affairs Group named Robert Moran a principal and member of the federal relations team in the Washington, D.C., office. He previously was education policy director for Republicans on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. Before that he was director of federal relations and policy analysis for the American Association of State Colleges and Universities and a senior adviser for the Education Department under former President George W. Bush.
Stephen Cobb was named a partner at Holland & Knight LLP and will lead a new team focused on state attorneys general. He was deputy attorney general of Virginia from 2017 to 2019 and before that served as senior adviser at the Commerce Department during the Obama administration.
Meghan Thurlow was promoted to global director of public affairs at General Electric Co. She previously was a director at GE for more than three years and has been with the company for more than six years. Before that, she was director of public affairs at the Transportation Department under former President Obama.
Cary Davis was promoted to general counsel and director of government relations at the American Association of Port Authorities. He spent the previous year as general counsel for the association. Before that, he was of counsel for the American Continental Group and was legislative director and general counsel to ex-Rep. Dan Donovan (R-N.Y.).
The Public Affairs Council elected Peter Wilkinson as its new board chair for 2020-2021. Wilkinson is the global head of regulatory and public affairs at Canadian insurance company Manulife. He is both the first Canadian and international chair to serve on the council’s board of directors.
