Rep. Rob Bishop (R-Utah): “The Dick Van Dyke Show” on TV Land. Bishop said that it is the one show he is upset if he misses and that it makes him “reminisce about his childhood.”
Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.): “If it was one, I would have to say ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’”
Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.): “The Dog Whisperer” on National Geographic. Weiner, who TiVos the show, raved about a recent episode in which a Great Dane slid across a hardwood floor (we’re assuming on all four paws) and hit the wall, rendering him self unconscious. The dog, now afraid of hardwoods, is getting help from the Dog Whisperer, who figures out how to cure any problems with a dog’s spirit.
Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger (D-Md.): “Grey’s Anatomy.” “There’s romance, there’s laughter, there’s serious medical issues. I’m kind of addicted to it, [along] with my wife. I find it entertaining. My life was saved in Maryland’s trauma system.” In 1975, Ruppersberger nearly died when he was thrown from a car. His recovery required 47 pints of blood.
Rep. Sue Myrick (R-N.C.): “Keeping up Appearances,” a British comedy on PBS.
Rep. Collin Peterson (D-Minn.): “I don’t have to watch anything,” Peterson said, explaining that he spends time writing out music and practicing with his band, the Second Amendments. “I’ve heard about ‘Desperate Housewives.’ I think I saw it once. It was kind of weird.”
Rep. Timothy Johnson (R-Ill.): ESPN’s “SportsCenter” and Fox News Channel’s “Hannity & Colmes.”
Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.): The Olympics, summer or winter.
Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.): Atlanta Braves baseball.
