Gingrey Communications Director Leaves Post for Law School
Chris Jackson will be leaving his post as communications director for Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.) to attend law school at Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law. After only five months in Rep. Gingrey’s district office, Jackson was named communications director and moved to the D.C. office. Gingrey’s office has not yet named a replacement but is anticipating an announcement in the coming days. Jackson is a resident of Cave Spring, Ga., and graduated from the University of Georgia’s Grady School of Journalism.
Verizon gets new specialist in technology policy
Brian Rice will join Verizon’s federal regulatory team next month as a director of federal regulatory affairs. Rice, currently a communications policy adviser to Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), previously served as a professional staff member with the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. He will specialize in technology policy and represent Verizon at the Federal Communications Commission.
Business Software Alliance Welcomes New Addition
{mosads}The Business Software Alliance (BSA) announced Jodie L. Kelley as a new addition to its organization. Kelley, a D.C. attorney, will be general counsel and vice president of anti-piracy. She will lead BSA’s role in domestic and international anti-piracy programs as well as its efforts on Internet crime, educational programs and intellectual property issues.
