Unwind at My Brother’s Place
Known for serving an unusually high number of Texas natives living in D.C., My Brother’s Place Restaurant Bar and Grill is a great place to gather with a group of friends, catch a Rangers game or two and unwind with drinks at reasonable prices.

Monday nights from 9 to 11, women can start their week’s night life off with $1 Miller Lite drafts and rail drinks such as Jose Cuervo margaritas and rum and cokes. Ladies end the workweek Friday nights with $2 rails from 5 to 9.

The biggest draw is “Beat the Clock” on Friday nights. In a race against time to get the most buzz out of their bucks, patrons can buy Miller Lite draft for only 75 cents starting at 4, with the price increasing by a quarter every hour until 10.

The liquor flows Saturday nights, when $15 gets you “All You Care to Drink” from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

18th Amendment, where history, drinking and irony meet
It’s more than a little ironic that this bar is named for the amendment calling for alcohol prohibition. The 18th Amendment, located near D.C.’s Eastern Market, asks its patrons to go back in time to the days of “bootleg booze,” according to its website.

Nights to look out for include “Rum Runner” Friday nights, when Captain Morgan, Parrot Bay and Malibu Rum drinks cost $5. Beer lovers will love “Domestics Night,” when patrons buy drafts and bottles for only $2.

Patrons can get $3 rail drinks, $2 Miller High Life drinks and $1 off all cocktails, drafts and martinis during happy hour Mondays through Fridays from 4 to 8 p.m.
