Nelson says Bolton vote was a stand-alone

Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.), a leader of the centrist “Gang of 14,” sought to dispel speculation that his vote for cloture on John Bolton’s nomination signaled willingness for another compromise to follow the historic accord on judicial nominees.

“It was a stand-alone,” Nelson said of his vote. “I think it would be a mistake to try to mix the two — appointees and judicial nominations.”
