Reps. Heinrich and Bono Mack lead in hottest lawmaker contest
Imagine playing a game of “Hot or Not: Congressional Edition.”
That’s what blogger Tom Scott has created with Sexual Congress, a new website that sets up voting contests between two members of Congress, where the most attractive member wins. Viewers vote based on photos of two lawmakers, and after voting, two new lawmakers immediately appear.
{mosads}ITK was alerted to the site by a congressional staffer, who said it was growing in popularity on Capitol Hill.
Launched late last week, as of Monday afternoon, Sexual Congress had received tens of thousands of votes.
On the men’s side, users voted Rep. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) the best-looking; Heinrich has won 1,410 “battles,” representing 91 percent of his total contests. He was followed closely by Rep. Aaron Schock (R-Ill.), who had won 1,433 times — 88 percent of the time.
On the ladies’ side, Republican Rep. Mary Bono Mack (Calif.) has the No. 1 spot with 6,826 wins, or 94 percent of her battles. Next in line is Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), who has won 6,602 contests, which is 91 percent of her total contests.
The site also lists the bottom 10 lawmakers, both men and women, but in the interest of courtesy you’ll have to visit the website to find out who they are.
