‘Real’ housewife: Obamas didn’t RSVP to my wedding

Much of the drama swirling around “The Real Housewives of D.C.” centers on a certain gatecrashing couple’s efforts to meet President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle. But not all the housewives are so enamored of the Obamas.

Cat Ommanney, the British-born wife of Newsweek photographer Charles Ommanney, has a bone to pick with the first couple: They didn’t reply to her wedding invitation.

{mosads}In the opening episode, which was released to media this weekend, Ommanney compares Obama’s party etiquette to that of another major political player: “[President George W. Bush] R.S.V.P.’d our wedding,” she says, referring to her wedding to Charles, a campaign photographer who knows both Bush and Obama well. “But the Obamas didn’t R.S.V.P.”

Unaware of the tension her complaint had caused among the Obama fans in the room, Ommanney continued, “As a gentleman, [Bush] was a class act.”

The White House declined to comment on Ommanney’s gripe.

Presidents aren’t the only major pols up for discussion in the opening episode: At one point the ladies gather ’round an iPhone to admire a photo of Vice President Joe Biden shot by Ommanney. “He’s so cute!” gushes cast member Stacie Turner.
