Grayson helps his office prepare for transition

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) lost reelection this fall by more than 15
points, and in the little time he has left in Washington, the
soon-to-be-former congressman wants to do everything he can to help his
staffers land on their feet.

{mosads}Grayson told ITK that he’s making time to sit down with each member of his staff this week.

“We have a really fun office where everyone is free to be exactly who they are,” he said. “There’s one person on my staff who is highly religious, and another who doesn’t like to wear shoes, but they’re all really talented people, and in this world, talent is rewarded.”

Grayson joked with one staffer, “If you ever want to sell out, there will be plenty of buyers.”

As for his own transition back to non-commuter life, Grayson said that his five kids can expect him to keep a much closer eye on their schoolwork once he’s back home in Florida. “There’s about to be a lot more studying done in the Grayson household, I can tell you that,” he laughed.
