West’s mysterious Hollywood admirer
For many Republicans, freshman Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) seems like a guy whose star is on the rise. And wouldn’t you know it, Hollywood has come a-calling.
West revealed in his weekly newsletter to constituents Tuesday that he got a phone call last week from “a very famous and popular Hollywood conservative actor,” but he didn’t say who it was. The call was “the biggest surprise of [his] day.”
{mosads}Asked who the actor was, a spokeswoman for West declined to give up the star’s name, saying only that it was “a private conversation between Congressman West and the individual.”
Well, not 100 percent private.
Here’s the catch: There aren’t all that many vocal conservatives among Hollywood’s A-list actors, making it much more tempting to venture a guess as to who might have dialed West up.
Three who jump to mind right away are Jon Voight, Kelsey Grammer and Gary Sinise. Send your guesses to ITK, who is on the case, at christina.wilkie@digital-staging.thehill.com.
