Pelosi smacks down Rep. Ryan’s capital letters
Well, so does House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) — especially when the caps come from GOP Rep. Paul Ryan (Wis.).
Pelosi gave Ryan a little jab Wednesday via Twitter, the day after Ryan used all-caps in a tweet about his budget proposal.
{mosads}“Path to Prosperity PRESERVES the Medicare guarantee; Partisan attacks & inaction guarantee Medicare’s collapse,” Ryan tweeted.
Pelosi wasn’t having it.
“#GOP ‘message’ on their bill to end Medicare may change, but the facts don’t #EVENWHENYOUUSECAPS,” she wrote, employing a hashtag to make a little fun of Ryan.
ITK suspects it might not have been Leader Pelosi herself who came up with the witty rebuttal: Many lawmakers trust younger staffers to handle their Twitter accounts.
And in Ryan’s defense, it’s easy to see why he felt he needed capital letters. Democrat Kathy Hochul won a special election in New York’s traditionally Republican-leaning 26th district Tuesday night, prompting many to view her victory as a rejection of Ryan’s Medicare proposal, which her opponent had endorsed. Political analysts now suggest Ryan’s proposal could become a BIG problem for the GOP.
