Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) frequently gets mistaken for Hollywood actors. But if he had to work in Hollywood, what he’d really like to be is a body double. A really muscular body double.
“I think I could make a great body double for [Gov.] Arnold [Schwarzenegger],” the lawmaker joked with ITK recently. “Except not an older Arnold, a young one. Like the Terminator.”
{mosads}When ITK raised an eyebrow, Issa grew animated: “Or Sly [Sylvester Stallone]! I could pass for him any day. We’ve got the same dark hair, too.”
But what about the height difference? Sylvester Stallone is only 5 feet, 6 inches tall (despite Stallone’s claims that he’s 5’9”) and Issa stands just shy of 6 feet.
The congressman had a quick solution. “I could slouch!”
But judging from Sly’s physique in his latest flick, “The Expendables,” slouching might not be enough.
It’s going to take the slender Issa a few more trips to the House gym to be mistaken for Stallone, even if he is slouching.
