‘Oscar the Moose’ makes his way to Washington

The other office knickknacks in Sen. Kelly Ayotte’s digs at the Capitol better move over — there’s a new moose in town.

On Tuesday, the New Hampshire Republican will welcome “Oscar the Moose” to his new home (we’re assuming Oscar is a “he” here, folks) in Ayotte’s Russell Senate building front office.

{mosads} Oscar, a moose head that was a longtime fixture at the governor’s official residence in Concord, departed on his journey to Washington on Monday. He apparently belongs to a New Hampshire tree farmer.

The reason for the move is simple: “Increasingly frustrated by business as usual in the nation’s capital, Oscar is determined to bring New Hampshire common sense to Washington,” Ayotte’s office wrote in a statement.

Ayotte appears to be excited about her new, ever-gazing addition, “Oscar’s presence in my Washington office will bring some of the spirit of New Hampshire to Capitol Hill. He’ll serve as a proud symbol of our state’s treasured wildlife and our rich outdoor heritage.”

No word on how Oscar the Moose feels about the move.
