The 43rd annual black-tie gala, billed as D.C.’s “premier international social event,” is held each year by the global leadership nonprofit Meridian International. After some formal dining at various embassies and ambassadors’ homes throughout the city on Friday, hundreds of partygoers sashayed up the red-carpeted steps of the Meridian House near Dupont Circle to schmooze, booze and let loose.
