President has no love for the Kardashians
Michelle Obama says that President Obama would rather their daughters not keep up with the Kardashians.
In a wide-ranging chat with the website iVillage, the first lady revealed the E! channel’s reality show that follows the famed and flashy Kardashian sisters is a no-no in the White House, saying, “Barack really thinks some of the Kardashians — when they watch that stuff — he doesn’t like that as much.” Mrs. Obama added, “But I sort of feel like if we’re talking about it, and I’m more concerned with how they take it in — ‘What did you learn when you watched that?’ And if they’re learning the right lessons, like, ‘That was crazy,’ then I’m like, ‘OK.’ ”
{mosads}The president’s wife also disclosed that while Malia, 13, and Sasha, 10, might not live in the most humble of abodes, they’re not exactly getting things handed to them on a silver platter: “The first thing is establishing rules among the staff that they’re not little princesses.” Obama says some of those rules for the tween members of the first family include making their beds, cleaning up their rooms and doing the laundry.
And he may be the commander in chief of the nation, but it sounds like at home, President Obama is treated more like Rodney Dangerfield — he just gets no respect. “It’s sitting down at the dinner table and having Barack’s day be really the last thing anyone really cares about,” Michelle Obama told the website. She continued, “So he’s sort of the throw-on piece. It’s like, ‘Oh yeah, Daddy, and what did you do today?’ ”
