’Desperate Housewives’ star raises 200K for Obama

Eva Longoria’s show is being canned, but it’s clear that she will be plenty busy this election year.

Along with a bevy of other Hollywood hotshots and business bigwigs, the “Desperate Housewives” actress is one of President Obama’s top fundraisers, according to new information released by the campaign Tuesday.

{mosads}Longoria, who’s starring in the final season of the ABC show before it goes off into “Housewives” history, raised more than $200,000 for Obama.

The Texas-born entertainer, 36, has a bit of experience rooting for the home team — she was once a cheerleading instructor before becoming a beauty queen.

She has been spotted at several moneymaking functions for the commander in chief over the last few months. And she has become a regular at the White House Correspondents’ Association annual dinner.

At a September event in Los Angeles, Obama gave Longoria a shout-out, cracking to the crowd that California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) snagged a prime placement next to the celeb: “I’m noticing Jerry is smart, because he’s sitting next to Eva. Nice going. How did you get that seat?”
