Romney: No way will I go on ‘Dancing With the Stars’!

Finally, something Herman Cain, Mitt Romney and Michele Bachmann can all agree on: They won’t be dancing the rumba on your TV screen anytime soon.

Cain, who dropped out of the GOP presidential race in December, confirmed to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution this week that he turned down an offer to be on the upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars.” An assistant cracked to the paper that the creator of the “9-9-9” plan “can’t dance in an eight-count. He can only dance in a nine-count.”

And the Republican front-runner is also stomping away from a chance on the hit ABC competition show.

When “Fox & Friends” host Brian Kilmeade asked Romney in a Wednesday interview what he thought of Cain’s decision not to dance, the former Massachusetts governor declared, “Under no circumstances would I ever consider going on ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ ”

He continued with a hearty laugh, “I don’t care how bad I do politically. I’m not going on ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ ”

Fox News morning show host Gretchen Carlson then told the candidate, who recently received less-than-rave reviews for his vocal skills when he belted out “America the Beautiful,” that perhaps another reality series would want him, saying, 
“ ‘American Idol’ may be in your future.”

“I’m afraid I can’t make that cut either,” Romney stated with a sad-looking smile.

Former White House hopeful Rep. 
Michele Bachmann also dashed the dreams of viewers who were hoping to catch her hoofing it up on “Dancing With the Stars.” The buzz was the Minnesota Republican was thought to be among this season’s contestants. But in a statement released Wednesday, Bachmann wrote, “In full disclosure, I did win a polka dancing competition when I was in the 10th grade at my alma mater… But, despite my 10th-grade polka success and my lifelong love of ballroom dancing, the recent rumors are false. I will not be joining ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ ”

ABC will announce the celebs who will be hitting the dance floor on “Dancing With the Stars” on Feb. 28.
