Rep. Boren promises to shave his head if he votes yes on health reform

Rep. Dan Boren (D-Okla.) has put his heavily gelled hair on the line for healthcare.

The Blue Dog Dem held a series of town hall meetings this week where, like many of his Democratic colleagues this summer, he faced constituents both angry and confused about the healthcare bill.

{mosads}But unlike some of his colleagues, Boren made no attempt to hide his dislike of the legislation. Just the opposite.

“If I vote yes [on healthcare] … I’ll shave my head,” he said at a recent meeting in Pryor, Okla., first reported by Tulsa World.

Judging by the numbers, Boren reads his constituents well: He’s won his last two elections with more that 70 percent of the vote.
