Senate sandwich Super Bowl
Starting Monday, the official sandwich of New Orleans, the shrimp po’ boy, is facing off against Indiana’s beloved pork tenderloin sandwich in a battle that will last until the two teams take the field in Miami.
{mosads}Sources told ITK that Restaurant Associates worked in tandem with staffers from Indiana to come up with the pork sandwich, which consists of a pounded, deep-fried pork loin served on a kaiser roll with lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise and pickles.
The po’ boy is a fried seafood sandwich on a long roll. It can be served with just shrimp, but it’s considered “dressed” when accompanied by lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise.
Stay tuned to see which sandwich emerges victorious.
