Rod Blagojevich: ‘If this isn’t corrupt, I don’t know what it is’
Blagojevich praised a Chicago Tribune article written about Madigan and his law firm, Madigan & Getzendanner, which handles the majority of the property tax law appeals in Chicago.
{mosads}“If this isn’t corrupt, I don’t know what it is,” Blagojevich said of the firm.
The invective was an interesting choice for the former Illinois chief executive, who was impeached by the State Legislature in 2009. Blagojevich was removed from office after being arrested on federal charges of solicitation of bribery and conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud.
The federal complaint against him alleges that he used his office “to obtain personal gain.” Blagojevich vehemently denies the charges, which stemmed from dozens of recorded phone conversations.
A trial date is set for June.
