Just days before Christmas, however, Beyoncé has opened her pockets yet again to deliver a holiday miracle in the form of $5,000 grants for those in need.

“The housing moratorium is set to end on December 26th, resulting in mortgage foreclosures and rental evictions. Many families are impacted, due to the pandemic that resulted in job loss, sickness and overall economy downturn,” the foundation said in a statement. “This holiday season, while many are stressed with what they will do next regarding their housing, we are proud to share some GOOD news.”

Even if the federal government passes the stimulus package, the moratorium will only be extended through Jan. 31. With millions of Americans in poverty, these grants could make all the difference for some. Individuals and families facing foreclosures or evictions can apply by submitting necessary documentation online starting Jan. 7. Through a partnership with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, BeyGOOD will select 100 recipients in late January before a second round in February.
The 39-year-old superstar has been generous with her gifts this year, donating $6 million to mental health relief at the onset of the pandemic and another $1 million to Black-owned businesses for her birthday this September. Ever the humanitarian, Queen Bey is expected to announce December’s recipients of the BeyGOOD Small Business Impact fund, which has given out $2,500,000 in grants to small businesses thus far, next week.
