Country music singer Jana Kramer recently detailed on social media enduring relationships she described as physically and emotionally abusive.
Kramer detailed in an Instagram post the “negative voices” in her head, which led her to devalue her self worth and pave the way for toxic relationships.
“The voices in my head….I’ve been mentally physically and emotionally abused in past relationships,” Kramer wrote. “I allowed certain behaviors to continue on because I actually believed the negative voices in my head that were spoken to me.”
“For years I’ve repeated patterns, fallen into the trap of believing those voices, hurting myself and hurting others because of my desire to be chosen, to be enough,” she continued. “And I’ve fallen for the same abuse in a relationship because it’s what I thought I deserved.”
The 37-year-old encouraged her followers to take a moment of introspection, urging them that now is the time to heal, learn and grow.
“We are enough. You are enough. I am enough,” she continued. “I’m done with voices in my head.”

Kramer did not reference former partners by name in the post. But she previously described in People magazine in 2017 what she called an emotionally and physically abusive relationship with her first husband Michael Gambino. Gambino was eventually convicted of attempted murder and sentenced to six years in prison. He died by suicide 2 years after his release.
The singer recently separated from her ex-husband, Mike Caussin, in April, finalizing the divorce in June.
